O Helicóptero Robinson R44 Raven II de alta performance , possui um sistema de rotor de pás, cíclico com T e um motor Lycoming IO-540 com injeção direta. O Motor Lycoming IO-540 possui melhor performance em altitude, maior capacidade de potência, eliminando a necessidade de um carburador.
O desenho de cabine aberta da Robinson permite uma visão desobstruída de qualquer assento. Sua fuselagem leve e aerodinâmica resulta em maior velocidade e economia de combustível. O rotor de cauda foi desenvolvido para reduzir o ruído emitido no sobrevoo do helicóptero.
